HOW P-SQUARE BEGAN?

P-Square was a Nigeria R&B duo composed of identical twin brothers Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye born 1981 Jos, Nigeria. The native of Ifite Dunu, Anambra State of Nigeria. They are recording artist, singer, songwriter, performer, Instruments vocals. They produce and release their albums through Square Records and they have been dynamic since 2003 to date.

P-Square started in St. Murumba secondary school, a small Catholic school in Jos, Plateau State Nigeria. Peter and Paul joined their school music and drama club where they singed, dancing, and copying songs by MC Hammer, Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson.

Later in 1999, Peter and Paul returned to music school to develop their skills on the keyboard, drums, bass and rhythm guitar. Their work incorporates the soundtracks for various movies like Tobi, Mama Sunday, Moment of Bitterness and Evas River.

In 2001, “P-Square” won the “Grab Da Mic” competition, and subsequently, Benson & Hedges sponsored their debut album, titled Last Nite, which was released under Timbuk2 music label. P-Square was additionally selected as “Most Promising African Group” in the Kora Awards three months after the release of their debut album. They won the 2003 Amen Award for “Best R&B Group”.

In 2005, they released their second album, Get Squared under their very own label, Square Records. They advertised this album across the nation by TJoe Enterprises, although they were still overseen by Howie T of Adrot Nigeria Limited. The video for the second album held the #1 position on the MTV Base chart for four straight weeks.

On 4 April 2010, P-Square was named the Artist of the Year at the Kora Awards in Ouagadougou, Burkina-Faso while they were in London for a show at the Troxy, and they will get an aggregate of $1 Million Dollars as the award winners, in Ebebiyin City.

On 8 October 2015 P-Square were given Range Rover SUVs from Globacom as Glo Ambassadors for their sponsorship of the #Dance with Peter television Radio entertainment program. The program conveys dancers from around the globe to feature their talents for prizes.

On 24 February 2016 News of how Globacom chose not to recharge its Ambassadorship deal with the duo though restoring the agreement with different Ambassadors hit the news. This was because of an aftermath between the organization’s agents and Peter, one portion of the P-Square twins during the grand finale of the Dance with Peter talent hunt show.

P-Square may no longer be ‘one not be two’, however for the time the brothers were as one, they increased present expectations as far as music recordings in the nation.

Earlier reported how P-Square revived their hamburger and remarked via social media about lack of peace between the two brothers. Although their obscure messages were hazy to fans who presumed a battle was brewing, the twins have persuaded others with their most recent activity of dropping they are up and coming joint shows.

In an ongoing remark, concerned fans informed one of the twin brothers inquiring as to whether everything is great among them and whether their shows will in any case hold, Paul Okoye otherwise known as Rudeboy answered the remark saying the shows won’t occur. This isn’t the first run through the twins will drop out and leave fans appealing to God for a snappy reunion. The last time it occurred, a ton of fans saw the brothers going solo as Peter became, Mr. P and Paul, Rudeboy.
